December on the Multnomah Channel

This is a view of the Multnomah Channel, Indigo's backwater home north of Portland. A confession is in order - this was painted while I sat in the car in the sun on the Sauvie Island bank of the channel, but the boat really is moored nearby. When there is ice on the shore, I think it is allowable to seek shelter.

I totally agree on the seeking shelter part.

I am in CA for the holiday season and my blog is once again up and running since I am away from Hawaii. Check it out for the latest ongoings with the O'Learys.

I did read The Quiet American as you suggested and liked it a lot. It is hard for me to imagine Vietnam as a war environment because all I saw were lush green rice fields. The evidence of the wars during the past century are now almost only visible in museums.
